“Karabasan Desen?” is an digital & online drag persona. They are the newest but also the oldest member of the Desen? family. They live on Instagram. They sometimes leak into other online platforms. But their home adress always begins with https:// instagram.com /… Each illustration reveals a secret about Karabasan. Karabasan tells their story through posts. They are not bound by the limits of the physical world. They once existed in an abstract outer space. But, now they nest in the web.

Intended as an online character which would eventually grow into a universe of its own, Karabasan is an expressions of what I would have wanted to be if I wasn’t born into a 3D physical world. They are scary and in times violent. But they are also forgiving and nurturing when it comes to those who they love. In a way Karabasan is the anti-thesis of God, a blend of Lilith and the devil both. Now, looking back, I might even specualte that my delusions of being the Messiah in my later works, might have been rooted in Karabasan.
